A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS LEAD:
Warehouse Leads oversee supply chain management processes in distribution centers.
A Warehouse Lead is responsible for liaising with suppliers and customers, recruiting and motivating staff, monitoring work performance, supervising team leaders, and making sure safety rules are being followed. WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires working Monday - Friday or as dictated by the Branch Manager to fulfill the needs of our customers. This is a 2nd shift position, hours are 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with Warehouse Supervisor to establish operational procedures for warehouse activities
- Handling and disposition of materials
- Inspects the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment
- Prepare work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement of equipment, when necessary
- Monitor inventory levels
- Confers with Warehouse Supervisor, Branch Manager & Departments to ensure coordination of warehouse activities
- Assist in the direction for salvage of damaged or used material
- Participate in the planning of warehouse personnel safety
- Assists the Warehouse Supervisor with all warehouse activities including cycle counting, receiving, picking, and shipping.
- Work with Warehouse Supervisor to develop a team, identify employee-training needs and provide proper instructions to ensure procedures are followed
- Document disciplinary actions, when necessary
- Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word
- Experience with Epicor
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- Experience with Customer Web Portals
- Possess a customer focused attitude
- Possess strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
- Must be self-directed and possess a high level of personal organization and drive
- Possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
- Interact well with employees at all levels within the organization and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
- Ability to be trained to operate powered industrial lift trucks and pallet jack.
- Working knowledge of all warehouse processes and ability to perform as needed
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to question from internal and external customers, employees, managers, clients and general public
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of Warehouse experience
- Preferred: Lean experience
